Today, we checked the chapter 7 review and took the chapter 7 quiz. On Tuesday, we will begin the next chapter about the Liturgy of the Word.
We finished chapter 7 today. You were assigned the chapter 7 review (pg60) which is due tomorrow. I know we don't normally have religion on Wednesdays but we will make time for it just so we don't have it lingering over Thanksgiving break. Below are a couple of your classmates displaying the order of the Introductory Rites!
We introduced the Introductory Rites of the Mass today. It is important that you guys remember the order of the Introductory Rites. I will give 15 points extra credit to anyone who brings in a Poster (or just a large decorated piece of paper) of the order of the Introductory Rites. This MUST be turned in first thing Tuesday, November 24th morning. It needs to be decorated and look nice so it can be displayed in the classroom. If two or more of you do it together, you will split the points (7.5 for each if done in a pair, 5 each if done in a trio, etc.)...
So I had you guys turn in your worksheet and then one of you said, "Mrs. Spaunhorst, I had my worksheet but I can't find it!" Since this is not the first time I have heard this before, we postponed the religion lesson for a lesson in organization!
Some of you are trying a new organization system out. I provided some of you with a folder which is ONLY for homework. Unfinished homework will go on the left and finished homework will go on the right. This will go to every single class with you. If you are assigned something that you need to do on loose-leaf, you will head the paper with the assignment and put it on the unfinished side. Then, when you get home, most of your homework will already be together (you will have to look in your planner for workbook pages that were assigned). I also told you guys that this would be the last time I take class time for a lesson on organization so I am putting it back on you to remember to put your loose papers inside of your expandable folder. We started our unit on the Holy Eucharist today. This is a tough unit because by the end, you will need to know the order of the Mass... now I know some of you are saying to yourself, "I attend Mass every Sunday and every Friday during the school year, of course I know the order of the Mass," but I have tons of kids who struggle with this so this is why we have been following along in the Breaking Bread books every Mass.
Today, you guys did test corrections today. Although the test scores were pretty good, I was disappointed to see that so few of you did test corrections. Unless you got every question right, there was no reason you couldn't have done test corrections for some credit. I hope next time, those of you who could have earned extra credit actually take time to figure out your mistake and fix it!
Yesterday, you guys took for first unit test! I graded them and put them in FastDirect. Most of you did pretty well but even if you didn't do as good as you hoped, we will do test corrections on Monday! I hope you all have used your day off productively. Have a great weekend!
Today, we checked your religion workbook review pages. Thursday we are taking the unit test. Be sure you are studying!!! You can use the Christ Our Life website listed on the right to review.
Today, you guys played the review game from the book's website. We will go over pg 46-50 tomorrow and take the test on Thursday!
You guys have your unit 1 test on Thursday. This means today your review pages were assigned (pg46-50) and will be due on Tuesday, November 10th.
The schedule for next week looks as such: Monday: review game day Tuesday: go over the review pages Thursday: unit 1 test Monday 11/16: unit 1 test corrections |
