Today you did your test corrections. Hopefully before Christmas break, I will have your correction scores up on FastDirect. Have a fabulous Christmas and New Year!!!
Today you took your chapter 5 test. Tomorrow, you will do test corrections over this test.
I went home sick today so I did not get to go over the study guide with you but I will put the answers to the questions here so you can reference them!
Remember! The test is Wednesday! Be sure to do the long answer questions so you are well prepared for it! You took the 5-4 quiz today and turned in that homework. I gave you about 15 minutes to start working on the chapter review (pg 182-183:1-12) which is due Monday. Scholastic News was also due today!
We also played the review game for history. Our winners were... Jack, Maddy, and Robert. Congratulations guys! Your 4 points of extra credit will be put in the grade book this weekend! Be sure you are studying for that test on Wednesday! Finally, here are the long answer questions for the test. You may do them before the test and use them on the test! How did the Nile River determine life in Egypt? Think About: - farming and fishing - transportation - Egyptians’ outlook on life How did Ramses II make Egypt more stable? Think About: - how long Ramses II ruled - how he treated enemy nations - the effect of having the same leader for a long period So rehearsal took longer than expected today so we did not get to take the quiz. Luckily, we have an extra period tomorrow due to not having Mass so we will take it then. During our normal history time, we will play the review game.
I assigned the chapter review (pg 182-183: 1-15) which will be due on Monday. You were asked to read lesson 4, make the timeline, answer the essential and review questions, and do the lesson review. You were given time in class to read and I also let you know that we are having all school practice before you take the plickers quiz so you can work on it tomorrow then... as long as it is completed by the time we have class. I am typing the answer to the essential and review questions. I am also attaching the timeline I created. EQ1: The significance of Queen Hatshepsut's rule was expanding trade and building monuments. RQ1: Hatshepsut tried to make Egypt richer by expanding trade. EQ2: Akhenaton tried to change Egyptian religion by replacing the old gods but one god. RQ2: The reforms that Akhenaton made were replacing the worship of old gods with that of the sun god, Aton, and he had artists create realistic works. EQ3: Ramses II expanded Egypt by conquests and a peace treaty. RQ3: Ramses II's accomplishments were extending Egypt's territory, negotiating a peace treaty, building a monument to himself, living an long life, and keeping Egypt peaceful during his reign. Due to practice for the Advent Program, we did not have a full class period for history. We were only able to take the chapter 5 lesson 3 quiz.
Also, as a reminder, you were given Scholastic News yesterday! It is due on Friday so be sure you are using your time wisely to complete it! We were able to start and finish lesson 3 today about Upper and Lower Egypt being united and the mysticism of the pyramids. You were assigned the lesson review for homework (pg 170:1-7) which is due tomorrow.
The Egyptian Settlement Projects were exceptional today! I am so proud of how awesome you guys did. I am going to ask Cal's parents for permission to post his video because it was so great! Good job guys!
We finished lesson 2 today so the lesson review (pg 161:1-7) was assigned and will be due tomorrow. We will also have the quiz over lesson 2 tomorrow (which will be a plickers quiz).
We also started presenting projects today! Even though they aren't due until tomorrow, I let Miguel, Lucie, and Jack present since they were ready. So far, the projects are looking good. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of them tomorrow! |
